The bookshop is delighted to welcome Élise Legal and Léa Guintrand for the launch of Pluie Acide, published by Bluff Books.
This book follows on from the PLUIE ACIDE exhibition held in March 2023 in Nantes, in the exhibition space of the BONUS collective. Elise Legal invited Léa Guintrand to mix their practices on the wall, Elise working with drawing and writing, Léa with photography and film. For the occasion, curator and critic Katia Porro had written a text, reproduced on the back of this loose-leaf page. The editorial relationship was already present in Élise and Léa’s way of thinking about their installation.
Rather than documenting the exhibition, this book continues their reflections on the installation. By blurring the surfaces, the book mixes original and reproduction, and blurs the temporalities of production.
*IMAGE_TEXTE offers invitations to authors, publishers, graphic designers, photographers, artists, curators and theorists who take a particular approach to the relationship between image and text in their publishing projects. In the course of these encounters – which take the form of discussions, readings and performances – the aim is to consider the way in which image and text are brought into correspondence, the way in which a text, a word or a typography can in turn become an image.
